Shonen Knife, the world's number one all-girl band, made their first release in 1982 with the self-produced cassette tape "Minna Tanoshiku Shonen Knife."
Only 89 copies were ever rumoured to exist!
This elusive debut is finally available for the first time on CD and vinyl!
In addition to early versions of songs that would later appear on the first to third albums, such as "Burning Farm," "Banana Leaf," and "Summertime Boogie," this truly treasured album also includes songs that can only be heard on this work.
Mastering was handled by musician/producer Yasushi Utsunomiya, who was also involved in the recording and production of Shonen Knife's early titles.
After this, their first album, Burning Farm, released in 1983 on Zero Records, was released on cassette by K Records, run by US indie heavyweight Calvin Johnson (in 1985).
Kurt Cobain, who likely picked up the album, fell in love with it and selected Shonen Knife as the opening act for Nirvana's UK tour, leading to their global rise.
This was the starting point of it all!
