KRISTI BRUD - Alt Er Nytt

After a year of building up massive expectations, Kristi Brud’s debut album finally dropped on November 17th, 2023 - to massive critics! A release that gave them the Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann) in the rock category. Their sophomore album will be out fall 2025. 'Alt er nytt' is an impressive achievement, exceeding everything we hoped for. The band has proved over and over how strong their catchy post-punk/pop-rock hybrid is with the five singles they’ve released over the past year, but this album will definitely surprise the listeners in the most positive way. Starting off with the dark, cathcy, and already well known tracks, 'Dine foldede hender' and the massive debut single 'Spiller ingen rolle' before the album grows even grander with the new and powerful 'Er du klar for å ha det gøy?'. This massive opening turns towards a softer touch with desperate ballads and beautiful love songs such as the definite hit 'Kom an' and 'En gang til' before the melancholy of the mellow but huge anthem 'Små liv' embraces the listener with beautiful synth chords and layers of melodic vocal harmonies. Taking another impressive turn into the more uptempo pop sounds on 'Paradis' and 'Flammehav' before mesmerizing us all with the heart wrenching final two tracks 'I tiden finnes vi et sted' and their previous single 'Bare dråper'. 'Alt er nytt' is huge, complex, and at the same time impressively catchy from perhaps the most promising new act on the Norwegian alternative rock scene. Kristi Brud came surprisingly out of the murky conflict surrounding four of the members former band - the renowned Hjerteslag. They rose like a phoenix out of the ashes of the now defunct band when they released 'Spiller ingen rolle' at the end of last year. The debut single was named track of the year several places, and the band’s super catchy guitar rock picks up the pace of their roots and evolves it into something more relevant and real. A train of pop melodies and sing-a-long choruses and heartfelt lyrics; 'Alt er nytt' is an album with an impressive variety of pop/rock with a gloomy touch of post punk. We have just barely scratched the surface of what the band has to offer, and they are already selling out venues across Norway.
