The record is centered around the music Hancock wrote for the TV special Hey, Hey, Hey, Its Fat Albert. On Fat Albert Rotunda, Herbie Hancocks brings you funky tracks like Fat Mama and more modern jazz-oriented tunes like Tell Me A Bedtime Story. The sextet that backs Hancock are some of the most prominent musicians of that time, including Joe Henderson, Johnny Coles, and Buster Williams.
