Emil Gilels - Grieg Lyric Pieces (The Original Source Series). This recording of 20 of the 66 lyrical pieces by Edvard Grieg, which the Russian keyboard grandmaster Emil Gilels recorded in 1972, can undoubtedly be regarded as a milestone in piano history. Although Grieg's lyrical pieces have a reputation for being manageable even for amateurs, the dynamic and colorful richness of nuance that Gilels brings to the compositions is certainly in a league of it's own. The Original Source Series from Deutsche Grammophon features celebrated 4-track recordings from the 1970s reissued on vinyl. Remastered by the renowned Berlin-based Emil Berliner Studios using 100% pure analogue techniques to create versions of the highest possible audio quality. Produced on 180g virgin vinyl by Optimal and housed in deluxe gatefold editions, featuring additional photos and/or recording documentation.
