DARK TIMES

In 2011 a label boss in the making received a tip about this insane punk trio doing something mind-blowing hidden on the Oslo underground scene. A hard hitting feminist gang with a noisy and gritty sound, original and new. One listen and an e-mail got sent. It turned out they already had a demo tape in the making (Ormeyngel/Sacred Tapes, 2011), and a new release was planned. The latter became the very first Sheep Chase release; Dark Times' infamous self-titled 7", most often referred to as 'Skull' (Sheep Chase, 2011) due to the classic cover art by Sebastian Rusten from the band. A decade has past, and Dark Times are legends on the Norwegian punk scene. With two critically acclaimed albums - 'Give' (Sheep Chase, 2014) and 'Tell Me What I Need' (Sheep Chase, 2018) in addition to another cult classic 7" EP, 'Girl Hate', released in 2012 by Fysisk Format. A decade with one day playing squats around Europe, and then getting nominated to the Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann) and getting booked for SXSW the next - and then back again. Dark Times are definitely a band worth celebrating. In addition to their remarkably good releases they have a unique story. How they started learning to play in their twenties and recording their first two releases within a year after this, ending up being feminist and DIY icons with international praise - with a remarkable laid back attitude towards it all. We are proud to present their first three releases, long gone on their previous pressings - their demo tape, 'Skull' and 'Girl Hate' - remastered and compiled on one album. Released on ltd. marbled or black vinyl, CD and digitally. The vinyl edition comes with a nice funeral brochure/lyrics fanzine.
