STUDY OF A DEAD END

The Mad Laboratory of Anti-Matter is a free and improvised music duo based in Beirut. Created in 2022 by multi-instrumentalist Nadia Daou (NAR) and clarinettist Paed Conca, an iconic figure on the improvised music scene.Raw and industrial, the dark soundscape of this laboratory is an exploration of the void and everything that can be found and emanate from it: a sensory, physical, timeless experience. The trance-like quality of repetitive music is combined here with industrial noise. Intense and hypnotic rhythms, a constant search for textures and nuances, and an unconditional love for raw and total art. 'Brutalist architecture is an emotional response to the Second World War. Our own sonic brutalism comes in response to the massacres and wars perpetrated in the Middle East and Africa by the West.
