SLEEP IN guitarist, Eric McNelis, was a member of in'uential emo band THE?PROGRESS with INTO IT. OVER IT.'s Evan Weiss, until the band's break-up in?2008, released their debut LP Settling in 2014 via Hideaway Records. Vocalist?Keith Badtoff and drummer Mike Dameo also both spent years in Philly posthardcore bands. But their sound is not a continuation of the NJ/Philadelphia-area?scene of the mid-2000s, although some parts are reminiscent of older acts like?THIS DAY FORWARD and JENA BERLIN. Nor is it falling in line with the newer?emo revival, even as some parts bring to mind some poppier Topshelf Records?acts. Borrowing from the catchy, melody-driven framework of THE PROGRESS?while adding a control and maturity that belies the quintet's rookie status, SLEEP?IN. could easily share shelf space with bands such as JIMMY EAT WORLD, LOOK?MEXICO and the aforementioned INTO IT. OVER IT.?Cleaner Days features two songs off their new EP: twinkly emo guitars with?catchy pop melodies and an incredible rhythm section.?PRESS?Their songs are soaked with smooth harmonies, on-point vocals, and brilliant?guitars.
