The debut album from The Royal Jellies is a polished gem of pop hooks and earworm melodies, Recorded by Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch, Art of Fighting) in the summer of 2013, this consummate eight-piece Melbourne band delivers a sound that is brash, brassy and infectious; neo-vintage, modern-dapper songs textured with horns, Hammond, banjo and stride piano, Hot on the heels of recording and touring with Clare Bowditch on her 2012 release, the Jellies now present a beautifully crafted album all their own.

"Ever since I was in kindergarten, I've had that inextinguishable urge to be an artist," says Raphael Hammond, The driving force behind The Royal Jellies, for years Raphael has been secretly writing and recording songs in his home studio, Taking that final leap of faith into the unknown, they released their debut EP in 2012 as The Royal Jelly Dixieland Band, and were propelled from obscurity into the bright lights of the Australian music scene, Darlings of the 2012 Port Fairy Folk Festival, White Night and St, Kilda Festival, they also recorded with ARIA award winner Clare Bowditch for her 2012 release “The Winter I Chose Happiness”, and opened for her during an extensive tour of Australia.

Now with the release of their first full-length album, Burrows St, Poolside, The Royal Jellies' careers as musicians is official, The title is both reference to a love affair with New Orleans trad-jazz, and the location in Melbourne where the title track was written on holiday, Inspired by the great songwriters and musicians past and present, including Louis Armstrong, Tom Waits, Damon Albarn, Neil Finn and Brian Wilson, The Royal Jellies offer a modern-dapper, neo-vintage gem of pop hooks and earworm melodies.
