Between takes, the crew shared barbecues, afternoon hangs, and dips in the pool, soaking in the Southern California sun while shaping the relaxed, organic feel that defines the record. Producer Dan Horne (Circles Around the Sun, Cass McCombs) not only guided the sessions, but also played bass and pedal steel guitar, adding depth and texture without ever crowding the songs.
