Since its release in 2006, You Are My Little Bird by Elizabeth Mitchell has become a modern classic for children. Themes of birds and flying are woven throughout the album, which includes traditional songs such as Peace Like a River and Little Bird, Little Bird, as well as favorites by Bob Marley, Lou Reed, Vashti Bunyan, and Woody Guthrie. Joined by her family, including her daughter Storey and husband and Ida bandmate Daniel Littleton, Mitchell crafts an inviting, homespun sound that draws young listeners in with its warmth and tenderness.
