A late night conversation before heading off to Sydney sparked the idea of releasing a 7 for her, then, upcoming sold out European tour. Cortney & her band (all talented artists in their own right) were in the studio working on a new record when these two songs came to light. Lead track, sutures, features Cortney ethereal vocals over a driving bed of drums, showcasing the talents of Scott Martin (Lambchop, Hands Off Cuba, Hobbledeions) & Rollum Haas (The Features). Rounding out the sound with synths, electronics, & alto clarinet are Ryan Norris (Lambchop, Hands Off Cuba, Coupler) & Matt Glasmeyer (Meadownoise, Hands Off Cuba). chemical mind displays more of Cortney's ambient side, drawing shadows to M83 & The Field. Marin, Norris, & Ben Marcentel (Sugar Sk**lls, Hands Off Cuba) lay down a beautiful landscape of sounds while Cortney's stunning vocal mix shines through.
