Melbourne Duo Cry Club are Heather Riley (they/them) and
Jono Tooke (he/him) and are quickly being recognised for
their energetic presence, which was born through the coming
together of their personal influences that draw from punk
and pop sounds, creating something that sounds familiar yet
Cry Club continue to go from strength to strength, earning
rave reviews from Pilerats and The Music, being added to
triple j full rotation and becoming #1 most played artist
on triple j Unearthed in 2019. They were booked for
BIGSOUND and Yours and Owls Festival before releasing a
single snippet, and the past year has seen them feature on
the bills of Falls Festival, Lost Paradise, and Splendour
in the Grass - although they all got cancelled.
The highly anticipated debut album, God I'm Such a Mess
reflects on their journey, and is a collection of songs
that built their career, which, as the band explains, are
'very autobiographical for us.' Produced by Gab Strum and
mixed by Scott Horscroft, God I'm Such A Mess features
previously released singles and some die-hard crowd
favourites, while 'Quit', co-written with Zachary Hamilton-
Reeves of Northeast Party House sees Alex Lahey and Eilish
Gilligan moonlight on backing vocals.
