During their prolific first decade, the Tucson-based gloom metal trio North released four acclaimed EPs and two well-received full-lengths in addition to playing nearly 300 shows across America with the likes of Deafheaven, Red Fang, Neurosis, Pelican and Intronaut. In 2015, the band's profile will continue to rise via reissues of their debut release Siberia (2006) and their most recent EP Metanoia (2014), which will be made available the same day that two songs from the group's new album - tentatively due out this winter - will be unveiled digitally. Siberia, which has been out of print for years, showcases the group's compelling origins as a post-metal instrumental outfit, while Metanoia - which has self-released in limited quantities last year - displays the sludgy brand of doom that Decibel hails as a wall of crushing, psychedelia-tinged post-Neur-Isis mania. In addition to separate limited-edition, hand-screened and hand-numbered colored vinyl releases, the two recordings have been combined onto a single 12-track CD featuring unique reversible artwork. North will kick off a two-week Western U.S. tour on June 12, a precursor to a 34-date trek on which the group will embark later this year.
