The RockNRoll Hi-Fives are a family band. That is, Dad plays guitar; Mom plays bass; Daughter sings and plays the theremin; and Son plays drums. Dad is guitarist Joe Centeno, formerly of Jersey City alt rockers Plug Spark Sanjay (among others). That band had some success in the early aughts -- even recording an album with Steve Albini -- before Joe settled down to family life. Joe was just biding his time. He and wife Gloree cultivated their own homegrown band. Now, with daughter Eilee (16) on vocals and son Evren (13) on drums, The RockNRoll Hi-Fives derive joy from making music together, as a family.
