Live at the Cabooze features the original 5 piece Suburbs lineup and was culled from a two nightstand in 1983. The pristine analog live recordings were captured courtesy of Paul Stark and SteveFjelstad and the infamous Stark/Mudge mobile recording unit that was also notably pressed intoservice for Credit in Heaven and The Replacements Hootenanny album. Stark - one of the partnersat Twin/Tone, the label responsible for the earliest releases of The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, TheReplacements and many other key artists - has done yeomans duty preserving and digitizing theTwinTone assets over the years. The multitrack recordings for this show (and others...) sat in thevaults for over 4 decades before the stars aligned and A Pagan Ritual: Live At The Cabooze 1983finally saw the light of day. The 12 songs here (6 from In Combo, 5 from Credit in Heaven andWaiting, their 1982 smash club hit) are presented with a superb sonic sheen that perfectly capturesthe moment with palpable almost like you were there quality.
