Acclaimed minimalist producer Nosaj Thing releases his anticipated third album, '''Fated,' via Innovative Leisure/Inertia. Nosaj Thing (aka Jason Chung) has had a huge career thus far, including a critically adored sophomore album 'Home,' production work for the likes of Chance the Rapper, and remixes for Jon Hopkins, Flying Lotus, Radiohead and Little Dragon.
However, after six years of being a highlight of electronic music, Nosaj Thing took a break to find himself again. "I just tried to escape really, and escape even what's going on in the music world," he says, "It just felt so suffocating in a way. I just wanted to do my own thing."
Thankfully, his rest was shortlived. For his third record, he looks to be bringing back his exciting blend of haunting ambience and elegant electronica. "The album name came from all these coincidences that just kept on happening to me," says Nosaj Thing of the upcoming album.
'Fated' looks to be a more subdued and streamlined effort from Nosaj Thing, as he explains, "The last record took out so much of me. I just wanted to go back. The soul of a song... should be simple."
Featuring enticing guest appearances from Whoarei and Chance The Rapper, 'Fated' has the directness and ghostly appeal that made ears pay attention to Nosaj Thing initially, and take stock of his truly amazing talent.
