Emerging from the vibrant American folk scene of the early 1960s, John Phillips, Michelle Phillips, Cass Elliot, and Denny Doherty came together to form The Mamas & the Papas, one of the most influential vocal groups of their era. Their unmistakable harmonies and West Coast sound defined a generation, producing timeless classics such as California Dreamin, Monday, Monday, I Saw Her Again, Dedicated to the One I Love, and Creeque Alley. Before their breakthrough, each member followed their own musical path through groups like The Journeymen, The Big Three, The Mugwumps, and The Halifax III.
