The sophomore album from Australian Music Prize-shortlisted songwriter Rowena Wise is a tender,
point-blank reckoning with what it means to be flesh and blood. Love hurts, everyone is full of dark
and light, and the rules of negotiating desire, devotion and self-authenticity no longer hold. Produced
by Rob Muinos (Julia Jacklin, Didirri) and recorded live over three days at The Ratshack with Richard
Bradbeer (bass), Jess Ellwood (drums) and Matt Dixon (pedal steel), the album favours restraint and
intimacy. Wise's vocal performances soar and crumble in real time over tight, organic instrumentation
